American cockroaches are the largest species of cockroach that enter into homes and structures in the Albany area; they can grow to be over 2 inches in length. They are a reddish-brown to mahogany in color with a distinctive yellow band behind their head. This species of cockroaches have fully developed wings and are able to fly.
